Band biography has been updated with recording dates for the “Radio Stars
Holiday Album” thanks to Martin Gordon. Also the release dates (2007 &
2008) of for the Marc Bolan TV Show which has been released in Japan. This is
along with the Japanese re-released “Songs For Swinging Lovers” album in 1984
and the Portuguese compilation album “Sonido Chiswick” which features “No
Russians In Russia” and was released during 1978.
Japanese DVD release for the TV show “Marc – Marc Bolan TV Show” has been
added.
“Terrible Mess (No-Good Shoebomber)” has been added to the Unreleased Songs
section.
A UK white label test pressing of “Dirty Pictures” that I have obtained
recently has been added to that section of the Singles/EP’s Discography.

The Home Page has a new look with the addtition of “No Russians In Russia”
from YouTube.
“Radio Stars”, The Real Me”, “Good Personality”, “My Mother Said” and the
“Eleanor Rigby” 12” promo have been added to the Singles Discography

Chris & Andy were interviewed by Phil King on June 7th. This
is for the magazine Bucketfull Of Brains. I understand the article is mainly
about Jook, but could include Jet and Radio Stars.
Andy Ellison & Chris Townson have recently been interviewed for a TV
documentry on Marc Bolan. This will be shown on ‘Arena’ on BBC 4 around
September.
“Sugarlumps 2” is a compilation album on the Acid Jazz label and was
released on April 16th. Andy Ellison sings the Andy Lewis penned
song “Disappear Across The Sky”.
John’s Children will be appearing at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London on
September 15th to commerate the 30th anniversary of the
death of Marc Bolan. John’s Children will probably be doing about 3 songs.
Having just got back in touch with Steve Parry, quite a few things have
changed in the band biography between April and July 1978. Plus at the end of
1978 as well.

The “Nervous Wreck” (UK) labels and sleeves for the 7” release have been
added to the ‘Discography’ section. Along with “Nervous Wreck” 12” and “From A

Tuesday 20th March saw Andy record vocals to a new Andy Lewis
song called “Top Of The Tower”. Hopefully this song will appear on Andy Lewis’
new album. “Dissapear Across The Sky” which Andy did vocals on during October
2006 has now been removed from Andy Lewis’ website.

This line-up of the band features Andy, Chris, John Hewlett and Trevor White.
2 gigs have been added to the 1977 list. These being at the London
Nashville on 30th October and at the Nikkers Club in Keighley on 6th
Decemeber.
Radio Stars were mentioned in the March issue of Classic Rock in an article
on the Roundhouse in North London (One paragraph, third from the end). Radio
Stars were the last band to play there on November 5th 1978.

The April edition of ‘Uncut’ (out in March) will feature one page on John’s
Children when they supported The Who in
1967 in Lugwigshafen, Germany and caused total meyhem. This will be in the ‘You
Had To Be There’ section.
On Saturday 15th September, Andy Ellison will be appearing at
the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London to commerorate the 30th
anniversary of Marc Bolan’s death.
For the John’s Children gig at Manchester’s Night And Day Club on Friday 9th
March, the band will have ex Lush and Jesus & Mary Chain member Phil King
playing bass.

Friday February 2nd 2007. The band will also be doing a radio

Martin Gordon has released a Blue Meanies album titled “Pop Sensibility”
featuring 21 songs. This is through his Radiant Future label via iTunes on the

Island Records have re-mastered the Sparks albums “Kimono My House” which
features Martin Gordon, plus “Propaganda” and “Indescreet” which features

DJ Marc Riley who has an evening show on BBC 6 Music during the week played
Andy’s version of “Hippy Gumbo” on October 12th. Marc also gave out
information about Andy’s album and mentioned that he had offered Boz Boorer a
John’s Children session for around February 2007. A couple of months ago Marc
intereviewed Andy live on his ‘Marc Riley’s Mint Show’ (Sunday evenings 10 pm –
1 am) show and played “Fool From Upper Eden”.
On September 27th Andy phoned the Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio
London. Danny was wanting people to phone in and tell them about the strangest
things they had seen bands have on stage. So Andy told him when Radio Stars had
two washing machines on stage………….and working too !!
Various biographies have been updated and thanks to Neil Richardson a
Carlisle setlist has been added for the band’s Holiday Tour in 1978.

have been remastered) have been released by Ace Records. Andy’s solo album
“Cornflake Zoo” has finally been released by Voiceprint Group of Companies.

Andy’s solo album has been
delayed yet again. This time there has been a printing error and the running
order of the songs on the CD do not corrispond with the running order on the
artwork. Stay tuned…………..
John’s Children have been
doing the odd reherasal here and there at the complex in Mill Hill (July 20th
& July 31st just to name two…….ha ha !!), and on August 1st
decided to record a punk version of “Maybe It’s Because I’m A Londoner”.

John’s Children featuring three
original members – Andy, Chris Townson and John Hewlett, along with Trevor
White, who was scheduled to join the band in late 1967 have recorded a World
Cup song called “Come On England (Our English Sons)”.
The song started life as an
idea by John (a four note bass lick). John took his four notes to Trevor who
expanded the idea and when all four members were in the studio the song was
worked on even more. The studio used is in a complex in Mill Hill, North London
and it has both rehearsal and recording facilities.
Two rehearsals took place
towards the end of May and the recording was done on June 2nd and 4th. The mixing was done on June 6th,
with mastering taking place at Townhouse Studios on June 9th. The song is in a heavy rock type vein with a
punk sing-a-long anthem. Copies have been pressed up and distributed around
various radio stations in and around the London area and the North of England.
Ace Records will be releasing
the “Radio Stars Holiday Album” at the end of June.
Voiceprint Group of Companies
will be releasing Andy’s solo album “Cornflake Zoo” on August 7th.

John’s Children featuring
Andy, along with Chris Townson, Trevor White and John Hewlett started to record
a World Cup song at a studio in Mill Hill, London on June 2nd. Another
recording session took place on June 4th and as far as I know the
song will be called "Come On England".
The band biography, along with
biographies for Chris Gent and Trevor White have been updated. The unreleased
songs section has been added and so has sections for sheet music, TV
appearances and the gigs for 1977.
Ace Records released
"Songs For Swinging Lovers" at the end of May. All tracks have been
remastered.
Andy is to record the vocals
for a song titled "Across The Sky" written by Andy Lewis for his next
solo album.

Andy’s new album “Cornflake
Zoo” has been delayed because Voiceprint are trying to get an extra song
“Heather Lane” added. Andy recorded the
song with Andy Lewis and it has previously featured on the albums “Sugarlumps”,
a compilation and Andy Lewis’ solo album “Billion Pound Project”. Negotiations
with Acid Jazz Records are currently ongoing to get the song on Andy’s album.

March 27th - Martin
has a 3 CD boxset coming out on the Radiant Future label. This is titled “The
Mammal Trilogy” and features the 3 CDs that he has released so far.
April 10th - Andy’s
“Cornflake Zoo” album is being released. This will be released on the
Voiceprint Group of Companies label. The album features released and unreleased
material from the 60's, as well as unreleased material from the 80's, 90's and
the present day.
May 22nd - Martin
has an album coming out titled "How Am I Doing So Far?" This will be
released on the Radiant Future label and features 16 tracks from his first
three albums, as well as 4 bonus tracks of unreleased songs. Martin also has a
new album coming out later in the year.
